The internal flare port is exclusive to bass reflex and can be used for placement flexibility. The class d amplifier has a peak of 800W. It is compatible with the Klipsch wa 2 wireless kit. Premium scratch resistant finish. A premium look and feel can be achieved with a woven cloth grille, steel grille posts and shock absorbing rubber feet.
👤My neighbors love it.
👤These subs are large and powerful. They move a lot of air and produce a bass that is tight. They look fantastic, from classical to club music to movies. The quality of the components on the amplifier is my only complaint. The power cord insert is loose and the switches are cheap. These are made in China. The quality is the same on both of the subs I purchased. It's sad that Klipsch makes quality speakers in Hope, Arkansas. I have a number of speakers, including the two SPL-150s. I plan to add Cornwalls as the surrounds and move the Heresy's to the back of the surrounds and add in Klipsch in-ceiling speakers for ATMOS.
👤You can keep gain at half and hear and feel a lot of the lower end from the 2 x 10" Klipsch subs. Bass is very tight and deep and can be used for all genres of music.
👤I can't say anything more. Is there anything better? Ha. It's worth it. Get two. You will be happy you did. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has speakers. I knew they would be great because I have had Klipsch for 30 years.
👤This is a very loud amplifier. It will change your brain. Sound is very hard to sound. It fills my living room completely. You would ask why the stars are different. It was damaged. The sides of the packaging are protected with L shaped hard cardboard stripes. I think packaging needs to be beefed up to make sure it doesn't get damaged. I'm still talking to the seller about a replacement. Best bang for the buck, other than that!
👤Keepers of the sound. "Tell your neighbors we said Hi!" is the slogan of Klipsch. This thing says hi to me. I also have a small one. The Yamaha head unit arrived yesterday. It allows you to hook up 2 subs. Don't wait to get a unit that will run Atmos if you haven't experienced it yet. It's a big deal. If you want quality, you have to pay for it. Would I buy it again? Absolutely! The 1200 is the center speaker.
👤Over the years, I've acquired a few nice speakers. I haven't put much effort into getting a powerful sub since I'm a 2:1 fan. I've been working on improving my entertainment system. This is where the Klipsch sub comes in. Installation was a dream. My stereo has a dedicated output for a sub that only requires one cable. It still needs 2 cables if it didn't. It's easy. This is a large sub. This sub will fill your room with lows even if it's not large. The box is well made. It's around 75 lbs. The rubber feet won't slide so you should unbox it close to where you're going to leave it. I put it with red lines in front and towers in the rear. I thought that those speakers alone do a good job handling lows. I was impressed when this speaker entered the mix. The sound is clean. You'll feel like you're in a movie theater once you've figured it out. It shines with music as well. The bass is big and powerful. Definitely not flat. This is an impressive sub from Klipsch. I've had Klipsch towers for a long time and I'm glad I ordered a subs. Turn it up and enjoy. I've never been so confident in saying that. I forgot to mention 3 things. 1. The auto on/standby feature is a common problem with lower priced subs. The sub fails to be turned on at the right time. Not the case for this sub. It works. I've rarely seen the sub turn on, because it's an almost seamless transition from being on to being off. 2. There is a word of caution. The box that this sub is delivered in is very large. If you live in an area where theft is a problem, you might want to be home for this delivery. I don't want to see someone walk away from their hard earned money because they didn't know the box was obvious. 3. The settings for the receiver. The gain was almost all the way up on the back of the sub after I turned the sub down. The back of the sub is where you would turn the gain down. The built in amplifier is being slowed down. By turning it down at the receiver and up on the sub, you're getting the most out of the built in amplifier. This makes the sound more dynamic. Give it a try. I think you'll be happy about it. This will allow you to turn the base up with your remote instead of having to get up and turn the knob on the back of the sub.
The front-firing woofer is powerful. 400 watt of dynamic power is delivered by the alldigital amplifier. The cabinet is brushed black and has a painted plinth. Low pass and phase control. Line/LFE inputs are used for most receivers.
👤The Klipsch mine was broken out and I had to wait about an hour for a phone call back, but the guy on the other line listened to the high pitch sound and told me I had a speaker. I went to Best buy to look at the Klipsch subs and the guy told me they were getting them back with bad Amps.
👤This thing is awesome. I made a big mistake when I traded my old Boston acoustics XB6 for a new one. I used the sub that came with my Onkyo 7.1 speaker set. It did okay, but bottomed out very quickly. I decided it was time to replace it, so I went with this Klipsch. It was up and running in less than 5 minutes after it arrived. This thing is loud and deep. It shakes the walls. You know the scene where they blow up the ships in Game of Throne? I thought it would wake the neighborhood. There is virtually no break-in period. It sounded great from the beginning. It's nice. The golden cone is nice to look at, and the veneer is almost black brushed aluminum. The cost is less than my old Boston. It was worth the buy. Go for it! The driver developed a rattle after three months of normal use. I took the driver out, taped down any loose wires I saw, and plugged it back in after it sounded like wires hitting the inside of the box. Still jittery. The driver was responsible for it. It put out a lot of bass, but the rattle was annoying. The seller apologized when I contacted them. Can't help. The window is not open. The manufacturer can be contacted. I asked if they were an authorized Klipsch dealer, but they didn't reply. I contacted Klipsch. We can't vouch for them or their equipment, so we won't honor the warranty. They sold me a replacement woofer for $84. I installed it three days after it arrived. The Rattle is fixed. I wanted people to be warned. We take advantage of the deals, but be careful. TJ Maxx is like the internet. The prices are lower because of something. The replacement driver I bought directly from Klipsch is still going strong. Since the rattle incident, I haven't had any issues with the sub or its components. I am very pleased with this sub.
👤I record and produce music as well. I have a well-equipped home studio with a professional reference-level monitor system and a very high quality sub. I didn't think I would hear a consumer-level sub for a home stereo system that sounded as good as my studio-grade sub. I was wrong. The Klipsch 12 inch sub is very impressive. The feel of the lowest lows in your music and movies is captured by the great tone. This sub has been described as musical before. I agree, but it goes further than that. It's difficult to find a sub that produces a smooth bass sound while also being tight. The bass sound of my previous home stereo sub was very tight but it was also harsh at times and because of the smaller speaker size, it would sometimes sound distorted when trying to produce the very low frequencies at nominal volume. There was no distortion with this sub. If you are wondering if it's too big, it's not. The speaker's size makes it easy to reproduce low frequencies without distortion, and it also makes it easy to get the effect you want.
The speaker system that you will be surrounded by is matched with a 5 speaker system. Premium 1" neodymium balanced silk dome tweeters, ferrofluid cooled for vibrant high-frequency response; 4" poly-coated midrange drivers with butyl rubber surrounds for rich, clear sound performances Powerful dual 6.5" woofers produce high definition sound. For reduced cabinet resonance and reproduction of natural sound, a precision-crafted engineered MDF wood construction is used. Lifetime parts and labor manufacturer's warranty with lifetime customer support.
👤I was looking for good speakers for a 7.2 surround sound, since I already had two towers. I found these Fluances, looked at the price, and thought to myself, "These can't be good." I feel ripped off. In a good way. I bought some speakers that I thought would be worth a try, but I ended up getting some really nice speakers instead. Some low end speakers were ordered. I was very happy with the hi-fi speakers that were received. I have a couple home theater setup and I know what I'm talking about. The one with the Fluances is worth a lot. I will be furious if they haven't all been put in, but these speakers should not be standing and holding their weight. The bookshelves are tiny but have a lovely sound. The towers are my favorite. I will warn you that you have a stalker. I have a 300w Klipsch that I used with them and it makes it sound amazing. I will admit that these speakers struggle with low end. Give them time to break in. I was disgusted when I first fired them. I was impressed after two days. I'm very impressed after a few more days.
👤I wanted to have my speakers for a while before I left a review. I listen to this system for 6-7 days a week for 1-2 hours a day. I like to listen to classic rock and jazz. I like to watch movies with my surround sound system. I am very impressed. Boston Accustic micro-110x speakers have a B A PV350 sub. I became bored with the lack of sound with that system. The Fluance system can be entered. The improvement in the sound stage is dramatic. It took me a while to get the best sound from my speakers and receiver. The hassle has been worth it. I found the speakers bright and tiring to listen to. There was no mid-range or bottom end. Why don't you keep them? The answer is to add a sub and adjust the receiver's bass output to 6 out of 10, then pull the fronts off the wall. I'm in love. The speakers need break-in. For a very modest investment, you will get a great reward if you play with your set up. The delivery was fast and double boxing protected the shipment. Don't be sorry if you buy them.
👤When I was looking for a set of replacement home theater speakers, I didn't know much about Fluance. It looked like anyone who made anything remotely good was more interested in their own product than the value it gave. I took a chance on Fluance after a lot of research. I know about quality, but am not very picky when it comes to my own costs. I value good audio, but not at some diminishing returns area where stellar is great, but largely wont justify the costs unless you have money to burn. The Fluance comes in. The build and sound of the car are very good. It was easy to setup and packaging made sure it arrived safely, but not overly engineered to cause a lot of waste. I added 2 more surround rears after I loved the package so much. The overall appearance is above the price range. The output companioned with the Yamaha is amazing. The speakers were clear of distortion after a few hours of break-in. A pair of Polk 10 inch subs were added for better stage feel up front and working with a 150 inch projection 4K setup. I would recommend others to buy from me again. For that great sound, but not a lot of costs that seem to be pervasive in home audio and prosumer choices.
A sleek, rounded all-black finish with easy-to- clean textured surface is ideal for small-med rooms. The Virtual:X is from the popular film, DTS Virtual:X. Sound enhancement for room-filling, floor-to-ceiling sound. 2.1-Channel Sound is ideal for movies, music, and gaming. Two full-range speakers in the sound bar provide brilliant clarity and sound. You can hear what the artist intended with the 50Hz to 20kHz Frequency Response.
👤I was worried that the subwoofer would be too large for the space I was putting it in, but I was able to turn it off. That's good. I was going to have to build a riser to allow line of sight remote control access to both the sound bar and my other components without obscuring the TV. It was unnecessary to hook up the bar using HDMI. I put the bar behind the TV so that I could get all the control and sound quality that I wanted. I have great sound in the room and full control over sound balance and quality.
👤I'm glad I chose this one because I did a lot of research. Excellent sound quality. It can get loud. 95 decibels is loud enough for a small to medium size room. The price, features, and compact size make it an outstanding value. Subwoofer is small but powerful. You can change the sound of the bass, treble, and subs when listening to TV, movies, or music. The remote is easy to use. There is nothing to complain about with this one.
👤I heard the James Bond theme play when I first turned on the system and I knew it was a good one. The sub was full and boomy, and the sound filled the room very well. Coming from a small bar and sub. The sound bar and sub look and feel great. Very classy and solid. Music sounds great through it. It was nice and full. I would definitely recommend this.
👤The sound bar is for my computer build. I wanted a speaker system that would allow decoding. Due to my computer being 28 inches in length, I was looking for a sound bar no longer than 28 inches. This was a perfect match. Excellent sound quality. I was skeptical about buying a sound bar that only has two speakers, as opposed to the three channel setup. I watched the movie "iRobot" in high definition. The dialog was crisp, and it appeared to be coming from the center of the sound bar. If you will, consider it a "Phantom" center channel. The loud segments did not drown out the dialog. I was hooked. I have to increase the volume on my center channel speaker because of the issue compared to my 7.1 surround system. It appears to cut out at low volume levels. The problem has been reviewed via the internet and it has given me a few ideas to fix it. The first step is Pairing, the second is Interference, and the third is finding out if there is a firmware update. When looking for an update, Vizio asks for the serial number instead of asking for the model number. This is not something that you want to do. I don't understand the logic behind it. The model number is the same for most companies. I don't experience any issues with connecting to my phone with either optical or HDMI. Music, movie, and dialog are sound equalization preset. The sound bar will talk to you as you change settings. The "Voice Assist" feature is also available.
The sound bar is packed with 7 powerful drivers and tweeters that produce a clear sound, more superior than any traditional sound bar. The sound bar will instantly recognize the unplugged speakers and whisperer when you power them on. The wall mountable speakers have a full range driver and the sub supports an 8” downward firing driver. Experience true 5.1 PoLK's patented sound technology creates an expansive surround stage and detailed stereo image delivering a room-filling listening experience, the same as what you would get in a concert or theater. Polk's exclusive Voice Adjust Technology lets you control voice levels in ways that maximize sound clarity and minimize voice delays. It has independent modifications for movies, music, and sports so that you can hear every word. There are three HDMI inputs, one HDMI-ARC output, an optical port for the set-top box, and an aux analog input. You can stream music from your phone, tablet, or other compatible device to a multi room system. You can now use services like Pandora and others to listen to your favorite music. Enjoy high quality sound instantly by connecting to a host of smart devices.
👤The definition of TERRIBLE is Polk support. There was no resolution. I have been promised a replacement for nearly two months. The potential for this product is there, but the performance so far is poor. The surround speakers make a most annoying sound. Tech support has not supported the problem. I wouldn't speak to these speakers until the problem is solved. I wish I'd found this information before I purchased it, as I have found on-line others complaining of the same issue. Don't buy this and don't buy Polly - Customer Service gets worse. It's sad to say.
👤It was bought on March 14th and is dead on July 9th. I tried optical, HDMI, and Bluetooth, but it kept restarting and wouldn't play sound from any source. I thought it was a nice sounding system, but who keeps boxes that big for more than a few weeks? Polk customer service will be reviewed. Polk Customer service is fantastic, absolutely no hassle, nothing to provide, and I had a replacement in less than 10 minutes. It was easy to hook up the new one. Hope this one lasts, it sounds like it was as good as the first one.
👤I wanted an excellent soundbar and it was exactly what I got. I was looking for a replacement for a traditional receiver and 5.1 speaker surround sound system, but I was worried that a soundbar wouldn't live up to my expectations. I'm not an audio engineer. I can't tell the difference between the Polk Left/Center/ Right speakers I had previously and this one. The surround sound is what I wanted, they need a power outlet each. And that's it. The way my room is configured I can't have the rear speakers wired to a single amplifier because there are other sound bars with separate rear channels. Other people have stated that the sub is very impressive. I was nervous about how it would sound, but I'm very happy. There was an update on 5-13. It was reduced to three stars. Sometimes we watch TV in the other room with a cheap soundbar that doesn't have these issues, because the crackling fire in the front speakers is so bad. When changing channels or going into the Comast menu, the soundbar will sometimes disengage from the audio source, and then it takes a few seconds to get back to playing sound. I will contact Polk to see what they have to say.
👤I bought a sound bar on Thanksgiving. It was a unit that I was interested in buying. It was too good to pass up. Within 40 minutes, I had the bar running. The only reason for it taking so long is through my Fire cube. A bar at this price range will get an additional 3 HDMI ports. There is a medium sized master bedroom. The power of the sub is quite noticeable. I'm in a house. I would let her rip. The ease of use is what makes me happy as a blind person. The setup and system update was done through the app. A total of 5 minutes. The only problem I had was learning the remote layout. I would like to see remote layout documentation in user guides. Customers who are blind would benefit from it. Polk customer service explained the buttons. All within a few minutes. I spoke to a gentleman who was very nice. There is a The sound bar is large enough to cover the full width of my television. Be prepared! The box is large. It was a challenge to open it. Very well packed. The bass, lows, and mid range are all great. Voice quality is clear. A good buy for a small to medium sized room. I'm considering the surround speakers, but I might make my neighbor angry. We'll see! There is a If you are considering this unit... I recommend it to you. I can discern tones with my sight. A very clean sound.
The best center channel you've ever heard of is so good that you'll forget it's just a channel. Pair the Demand D7 speakers with the Tower Series speakers for a timber-matched home theater surround sound system. The Status Quo is made with a 1" aluminum dome tweeter and 4.5" mid drivers that deliver pure sound and perfectly reproduce even the most demanding audio content that sounds nothing but the best! Even if you don't have a sub, you will experience deeper, more powerful bass, and more extravagant details. Without missing any notes, crystal clear highs and mids/lows is what you will hear. Better tone is achieved by the use of Definitive's proprietary Intelligent Bass Control, which helps enhance bass and maintains an overall balance between the lows and the mids. The cabinet has been designed withGID standards for better resonance. 25 years of constant innovation, relentless engineering, latest audio technology and icons have made Definitive one of the most trusted names in audio speakers and premium home entertainment systems.
👤I was watching this for several days at a really great open box price, but recently purchased a Polk S35 center which fits nicely under my TV at a price that even an open box can't match, so I didn't. I assumed that the price difference would not be significant if the CS9060 could improve my system's sound quality. I decided to listen to the CS9060's as my new center channel added a deeper low Frequency impact that compliment my main speakers. They make the system shine by delivering the full range of center channel audio that my larger main speakers don't produce, while retaining natural voice timber.
👤I wanted to upgrade to the CS9060, I have the CS9040 I can tune the base on my center channel just like I can with my speakers. The center channel is a huge upgrade. I didn't think that would be the case. I don't understand how the sound of the twitter can be better on the same speakers as it is on the other one. The center channels are fantastic, but they don't even come close to competing with the Polk brands.
👤For almost two years, I've had this hooked up in our 5.2, now a 5.2.2 Home Theatre, pushed by a Denon x 1500h. I probably sweated the center channel choice more than any other, while putting together a HT. I was budget constrained, so much of the components were bought on sale, including the old series of the JBL 290 towers. I tried not to get caught up in the debate about whether or not to use the same brand for the front stage. I was aware of the limits of my ears. I thought I should stay close to the correct balance, since we know the avr will help out there. I didn't like the offerings from JBL for CC, they were not up to par. I sat 7' from a 75" screen so the L/R speakers are relatively wide, but I wanted the mid bass fill to come in the center. The bill was filled by the DefTech CS-9060 The center fills the screen. We also have a pair of 15" active subs that can handle the low end, so I use the 8" built-in "sub" just hooked to speaker wire. The control of the tone is nice. I put it underneath the tv on a stand. I'm not a fan of music. It's the player on TV. It is easy to hear vocal under ambient noise or action sequence. It takes charge and plays nice with the JBLs in front, and the Yamaha 6490s hanging from the ceiling. I bought this for $503 on sale. I am not a loyalist and I was happy to see JBL on sale. I don't think that affects the rating. My subs are less awesome than the one downstairs. When you can get 2 for $400 you can fill the dips and smooth the bumps. There is plenty of boom and vibration in my 14x17x8 room.
The front-firing Cerametallic woofers are Spun copper. The driver is 12-inch. It's compatible with almost any receiver. The grille is strong and flexible. The contemporary finish is easy to integrate with any decor. The dimensions are 16” H x 14” W x 19.25” D. The box has a Sub 120 Subwoofer and power cord. The corner is where you want your subwoofer to be for optimal performance.
👤The sub didn't work out of the box. There was no sound or buzz test. I called customer support and was on hold for 30 minutes before I hung up, tried multiple times with no luck, and got an email response a week later saying they didn't forget me. It's funny. He called Klipsch support with no answer, and finally set up a return to Amazon after calling Amazon very helpful. Without Amazon's help, I would be stuck, I like Klipsch but don't count on their support.
👤This is not my first Klipsch component, but it will not be my last. The Klipsch R12 SW was damaged during a move and I bought this to replace it. I paid more for the R12 SW but the Black Label looks more high end. The two units look the same. Klipsch is the main audio speaker in my house. Well made and sound good.
👤I own a JBL system and love it. The.1 is actually two 10" 550P's with 300/500 Watts. The problem is that they are ver clean with thick cabinets. It's great for music enjoyment, but not for Home Theatre. When the Death Star passed by or the Law rocket was fired, I needed the number. There is a great deal on the Klipsch Black label. 400 watt sub. And it was delivered... I had to turn it down because it was so much. If you want the rumble to be put back into your movies, this is it. It was a steal of a deal at $249.
👤You will be happy getting this sub. It is amazing. It looks good and it produces solid bass. I would recommend this sub for someone who is looking for a clean, responsive bass.
👤We have a TV sound system and a receiver. We had a Polk sub that was moved to the basement to support the sound of the Sound Towers which has been working perfectly for 8 years. The Klipsch works great, it has enough base for the TV sound system and works great with music as well. It is the same product as the Polk which weighs 10 pounds more. This product deserves a 5 star review.
👤Wow! The Boston acoustic XB6 was the one I had. Supposed to be one of the best. The entire sound of our surround system has changed because of the Klipsch. The bass had to be turned down. This thing is free of distortion. I will break it in correctly. It is awesome! You want this one.
👤I thought the description of the 12” Front-Firing Subwoofer indicated the size of the unit. This thing does not fit in my space. I would not have bought this if I had seen it in person. I'm screwed because I can't exchange with this seller. Great stuff, but beware of Walts TV. Don't get screwed like I did. It was an expensive mistake.
You will be able to hear your TV come to life with dual 1.25" x 4.4" mid-range drivers, detailed crisp 1" tweeters, and the highest quality audio withEATERQUALITY AUDIO. Give your favorite movies, music and shows the deep, rich bass they deserve. There are no wires or cables that look ugly. Place the included wireless subwoofer in the room and let the whole place rumble. Denon's intelligent way of enhancing dialogues makes them sound crystal clear without having to adjust the volume. The most complex audio tracks will now be clear and loud. A low profile design that fits most spaces. The sound bar is under the TV so it won't block the IR remote sensor. Place it on a shelf or wall-mount it. The Audio Return Channel is included with the single cable connection that connects your TV to the gaming console or audio source. It's easy and convenient. You can stream music from your favorite streaming apps with the built-in technology. Denon has a 100 year legacy of sound and joy. This soundbar and sub is an exceptional home entertainment system that will give you multi-dimensional audio and hi-fi surround sound.
👤If you've followed any of my other soundbar reviews, you'll already know that I've been on a quest for the best stand alone (no separate sub) soundbar in the market. The Sony HTX8500, Yamaha1080 and one by Polk Audio are the other soundbars that I've tried, so I'll be comparing this one to the other three. If the electronics and design are good enough, you will find that a good soundbar will draw you even further into a film without drawing your attention to the soundbar itself. The S216 does a good job of creating a decent size soundstage if you are close to the soundbar. The Denon comes up about as good as the Sony and Yamaha. The soundstage for Midway is better than the Yamaha, but it's not as good as the Sony. The Denon has more adjustability to the bass level than the Sony, so it provides a better experience. The Denon really comes into its own when Independence Day has a DTS soundtrack. I was drawn into the whole experience by the soundstage. It's the same as both the Sony and Polk Audio soundbars, they can all be overwhelmed with too much bass added in. This was where the Yamaha excelled. The Denon has a place where it beats the others hands-down. Denon has done their homework in this area, and the way in the lead amongst the other soundbars I've bought is the Medium setting on the S216. The bass from the S16 could be better. It does better than the 8500 due to more adjustability and beats Polk Audio hands-down, but it's really short of Yamaha's1080. I think it's because the 1080 uses larger, down firing built in subs, and likely with a bit more power. I can't really call it bad, but the performance was disappointing. This is the only area where Sony's 8500 was the clear winner, and with so many 4K discs being encoded in Dolby Atmos, it may be its biggest downfall. The superior Dialog Enhancement found on the Denon goes a long way to make up for this. The ugly: I don't plan on using this soundbar for music playing, but am rating it for others in that respect so they can get an idea of what they are looking for. Despite being made by one of the best audio manufacturers, the S216 comes up short in music reproduction. The soundstage shrunk significantly when it was put through its paces for movies and the high end is far too restrained. If you're looking for a multi-purpose soundbar, the Yamaha is the better choice, although the1080 does not pass through Dolby Vision, so it is not a good choice. Positives include outstanding dialog enhancement, good soundstage, and great adjustability for bass levels. I'm using it over the Sony 8500 because of the Denon's superior Dialog Enhancement and more adjustability for bass level. I'm considering trying the newer Sony 3.1 Dolby Atmos capable soundbar to see if it will offer the superior experience of the 8500, but have Dialog Enhancement as good as that found on the S216. The Denon will be my sound system for now. Thank you for reading and viewing!
A power hungry vehicle. For extra bass and punch, a 10-inch Dynamic Balance woofer and a directed port provide accurate bass with added depth. A perfect solution for a small room. Even at low frequencies, the sound is rich and deep, even at high volume. The speaker plays the most demanding nodes without any distortion. The power to 100 Watts of Dynamic Power can be doubled with the in-built 50- watt amplifier. This sub is highly durable and fit for use. It is easy to integrate with existing systems. Variable 80-160 Hz and 40-160 Hz frequencies. A sleek grille on the front, speaker and line-level inputs, as well as speaker-level outputs on the back, make this sub cohesive and complete!
👤The glowing reviews for the PSW10 came to me after I had gone through three smaller 8” subs. It was better than anything I had before, and it was every bit as good as they say. I was so impressed with the musical performance that I began budgeting for something even better. The PSW10 cost 5x more than the SVS SB12-NSD, but many forums claimed it was light years ahead of it. I found the claims to be exaggerated after breaking in my new SVS. It could reach down to a bone-rattling 15hertz, which I like, but may not be everyone's cup of tea. For every other attribute, the PSW10 was 80% the quality of the SVS. I had to replay a bunch of songs side by side with both subs and assign a 10% more tightness to the SVS. Maybe some people consider that last 10% improvement night and day, but I just call it 10%, as in only really noticeable when compared side to side. I agree with many other reviewers that the PSW10 is perfect. Nothing can be done at its price point.
👤I had a Denon receiver and ordered 2 of these. I figured I might as well try it. I read an article on an A/V forum that said that 2 lesser expensive woofers is better in a home theater than 1 single premium one, because it will fill the room better and matter less where you're sitting for how you hear the bass response. I am blown away. I have one on either side. They sound great with games, music and movies. Replacing my theater in a box sub sounds terrible. I watched the Dark Knight and it was crazy how much more powerful the guns, cars, and punches were with the better bass and music of the films. Weapons firing and explosions in games will shake the walls if you want them to. I'm sure a single one of these would be a huge upgrade over theater in a box subs, but with a pair, they really shine. Highly recommended.
👤I bought two of them because my Pro Sub 1000 died after 8 years. The purchase was based on the reviews. The receiver has two outputs. I decided to get two when I only had one. I was a bit underwhelmed at first. I was expecting a lot more bass, but it wasn't the case. It didn't have the same effect as my DT. I was expecting the cost of the DT to be under 200, but it is close to $500. After messing with the output of my speakers and receiver, I finally got a decent sound that I can live with. I have to keep the volumn on the subs to get the results I want. I only had to have half of it. I don't play music on my system, so I don't have a review of the sound quality. I'm glad I got two. There will be additional review after two days. I will now rate these as a 5 star after I realized that the lack of bass from these speakers was caused by an operator error. I didn't have the output to the sub turned up from minimal. Once I started cranking it up, I got more bass. Excellent. I can turn down the master volume on the speaker. The auto shutoff feature was malfunctioning. It wouldn't wake up on a signal return when it went into sleep mode. I didn't have a high enough output to the sub on my receiver. It works great after another issue was solved. Very happy with the purchase.
There is a high EFFICIENCY for small to medium sized rooms. The HTS 12 features a long throw woofer with Polk's proprietary Dynamic Balance Technology designed to fill your room with three-dimensional sound in great clarity. The sleek rounded corners are a highlight, but this sub will surely take your movie and music experience up a notch with its deep rumbling bass from the in-built 200 watt amplifier. Potent Power Port Technology delivers deeper bass response with its turbulence-smoothing diffuser that transitions air flow from the speaker into your listening area, minimizing any kind of distortion and delivering rich full-range sound everywhere. The sub comes with LFE and stereo line level inputs. Pair it with any of Polk's Signature series 2-channel stereo speakers or create a complete home theater with S60 tower, S20 bookshelf and S35 center channel speakers. The rear panel has all the controls for volume, low pass filter, and phase toggle that are needed for optimum bass levels. The front has a clean look. Polk has a commitment and expert craftmanship with their use of advanced technology, master engineering, and innovation, which helps them bring out the best in sound systems and speakers. So you can relax and listen.
👤The sound of the sub is good when on. A dud. When off for a while, the status led will go off. When the unit is set to auto on, it no longer turns back on using the 12vtrigger from the reciever. Plug the power back in after a while to get it working. Even tried with another reciever and still had an issue. I contacted tech support and got no response over a week later. I got an email reply. They said they were too busy and that if I still need help, they would be happy to help. I tried that and was hung up after talking to a rep. 45 minutes was wasted. There is still a broken item.
👤I need to replace 2 non-working subs. I bought a 1000W Paradigm Servo 15 in 2006 for $2000. An old Polk model that was small but great bass was the other. I had gotten a 50W Polk sub as part of a HTIB several years ago, and I only have one remaining working sub. I decided to upgrade my sub to something more punch than 50W after purchasing a brand new 5 speaker surround set-up, a new Sony receiver, a 4K dvd player, and a new Sony TV. I know what an earthquake is like having owned the Servo. I wouldn't need that powerful in my family room. The HTS 12 would be great. The difference in power specifications is important. The description usually lists peak power, which is double what the RMS power is. The sub can put out power continuously. A brief burst of power is what the peak power is. The sub has a 200W rating but a 400W peak. I put the sub on an Auralex Gramma foam isolation pad to prevent room shaking from the laminate flooring. I have it at 80% volume and an 80HZ point. It wasn't long before I noticed my chair vibrating. This bass is powerful. Clean bass is the other thing to look for in a sub. A lot of subs can put out a lot of power. Loud is not good. You want the sub to disappear so that you don't even realize it's there. This sub does that well. It looks good. There is a huge port on the bottom. It's too powerful and I can't believe it's only 200W. I'm going to buy another and put them in my basement to replace my Paradigm. I don't need the floor to shake constantly so I'm going to put the 100W HTS10 in my family room. I was very happy with my purchase.
👤I'm a story teller and so I'm going to tell some of the issues and why this sub was kept. There is a Even though Amazon left it at the door for anyone to take it, I was very happy when I got the sub. I may have never gotten the sub if I came home early. After opening the sub, my expectation went up even higher. I had to make sure I had a place for it, so I cleaned out my closet. I was anticipating that this sub would have the punching power to give the lows and that I could create an enclosure like a closet to only hear the sound of resonance. I quickly learned that this isn't a sub that packs power. When I closed the closet door, I didn't hear the sub at all. After doing various tests, including listening to this sub, all other channels were unplugged. This is where I knew that the receiver wasn't powerful. I sat on my couch and prepared myself to repackage it and send it back. I read the instructions while getting the wrappers together. The instructions are written in different languages so they have a book feel to them. When I read through the instructions, I was surprised to see that it said that rap is the best test case for the sub as it has lows in most of it's music. They gave instructions on where to place the sub. I don't usually read instructions. I was wondering if I missed something after reading these. The speaker was placed in a section. I decided to listen to my old subs and this new one. I have two other Polk 505s. I was able to get two of those subs because I bought both of them on sale. The Polk 505s have limitations. The 505s try to amplify, but really they sound like paper flapping loudly. The HTS 12' doesn't amplify at close range, but it makes a sound at low frequencies. The words are close to each other. After listening to the Polk HTS further back, they sound good, not 400 dollars good. They sound good for the price. I was hesitant to keep them. I didn't get the amplification I was looking for. I made a final decision, I said I would follow the instructions and place the speaker next to the Front speakers. The Polk Audio Monitor 70 Series II Floorstanding Speaker was placed with the 3 other speakers. I played some of the music I used to play on my speakers. I will give you a quick list of those records. I quickly understood the purpose of this sub when I started listening to the music. The Polk HTS sub is all about place. The Polk HTS is a back up singer, meaning it can sound adequate by itself, but it really shapes the way bass lines are supposed to sound. The Polk HTS looks like it has a nipple like other subs, but it isn't using this new cone technology. The Polk HTS uses technology that makes it amplify at low frequencies about 4 to 6 feet in front of the sub. The target area of amplification is the center living room. The Polk HTS offers frequencies. The Polk HTS sub does not have a powerful bass line sound, but it does shape how the bass sound is. This is true when you pair the Polk 505s with me and I have 2 of them. There is a place behind my TV and a place next to my couch. You get those.2 frequencies and they sound great when adjusted. I used to like the songs that were missing. I have the HTS, which has alleviated these concerns. The Polk HTS is focused on bass quality and not shaking your home. I have both with the HTS and the 505s. I need to find a place to put it. It would only be an even number of subs if I bought it. I would only recommend this speaker if you understand the concept of placing this speaker next to your front speaker and it compliment subs that are already hard hitting. The Polk HTS has a warm sound. The bass line is shaped by the HTS. I advise users of HTS to keep their receiver at 80hz and to tune the speaker at the highest frequencies. I think the HTS goes up to 120hz, but you will get all the benefits of this receiver if you place it there. If you get the HTS, I will give you 2 or place it with others you already have. The sub lacks power. That's okay. You can squeeze the juice out of it if it's placed right.

👤The review is now edited. The sound bar has stopped working. I have had another Vizio soundbar for many years, but I am not an audio engineer. I retired that to see what a newer generation sound bar was like. I was happy to use the inputs on the sound bar and try out the new features on my XBox. Installation is quick like my last one. I don't have to refer to the manual. The way in which the box is aligned makes sense and it's nicely labelled. I was amazed at how small everything is. The viewing section at the bottom of my television was blocked by my older Vizio soundbar. I have an air-gap between the TV and the soundbar. My daughter called the speakers cute because they are so small. The last one was a small one. The sound of the older Vizio soundbar is startling. It is clear to us as we sit 8 feet away. I was picking up on sounds I didn't know existed while playing our XBox. It's like the previous soundbar was muffled, as if a blanket was over it, if I were to describe it plainly. The sound came through so clear after the blanket was removed. The manual doesn't explain why there is an internet connection on the back of the unit or how to use it. I know it has Smartcast by language on the box, but my point is that the manual speaks nothing about it. It's almost like they forgot to include a chapter. I tried to connect to the soundbar using my phone's app out of curiosity, I own a Vizio television with Smartcast. The sync between phone app and soundbar failed because it detected it. I don't need the app or the soundbar, so I will stop using them. I was sad to find out the connection on the soundbar is not 4k/UHD. I assumed this would work with my 4K television because everything seems to be different now. I used my FireTV last night to start a Grand Tour show in a high definition format. I was presented with an error-factoid that said my connection was not rated for high definition. I ran an optical cable to the soundbar after dropping my popcorn, and then I connected the television and the optical cable. The Grand Tour was back in 4K. I can't comment on the movie because it requires a HDMI connection. I still give it 4.5 stars, but it's up to 5 stars. It's small, cute and the sound is better than my previous one. We love it. I would love to be able to connect for 4K via the HDMI. That was a moment I will never forget. On 6th of May, the edit was done. It was purchased on April 24th and died on June 5th. We woke up this morning to find our soundbar dead between being turned off last night and this morning. There was no power. We walked through many steps after I contacted Amazon. Amazon decided to give me a refund because there were no replacements to be had. The soundbar is out of stock. I have to send the pieces back to Amazon with the label they provided. I have reduced my original review to a 1-star, but Amazon still gets 5-stars for their helpfulness. There are a lot of recent reviews of people suffering with this soundbar. Beware. Beware.
