Home theater LFE power outlets are easy to connect to your home theater receiver Subwoofer Output. The Signal Sensing Auto ON/OFF feature can save power. The 400 watt power amplifier has a high efficiency power amplifier, auto ON/OFF and 0 - 180 degree Phase control switches. The 10INCH FRONTFIRING WOOFER has a long throw and high rigidity PVA Treated cone, a bottom port, and a Bass Reflex cabinet with internal bracing and black ash finish. The system requirements are a grounded wall plug, a home theater receiver with LFE or RCB outputs, and a stereo with raw wire outputs. Use for surround sound systems. The box has a powered sub, 9 foot dual RCA/LFE cable, and an instruction manual.
👤I think it is a good value for the amount of bass it produces because it sounds good and hits hard, and it is a good value for the amount of bass it produces. There is a So for the issues it has. I paid extra for this model because of the LFE option, but it is useless, and I get a crackling noise at low volumes. 2. Even with the gain, the bass is weak. I had to use the regular audio connections. The bass is more powerful with this method, but the crackling noise is still there at the lower volumes. I adjusted the gain but still have luck. I'm not sure what to do, maybe spend money on a more expensive wire to connect it to my amplifier, to see if this will solve the issue. Or return it? I will contact the manufacturer to see if this can be solved. Don't buy the model. The LFE option gave me more control of the sub. This sub is not a good one.
👤I bought two for my receiver. Long story. After receiving a signal from your receiver, the "Auto-On" feature turns on the subwoofer. If it doesn't have a continuous signal, it turns off almost immediately. What does this mean to you? If you are watching a movie and there is a dialogue where people talk quietly, before a monster pops out, the plane bombs them, or something crashes, then you should. The sub is off the whole time, not anticipating anything, and then is delayed for an explosion. This means you hear a loud bang. Then it turns off again. The sub could help some low frequencies, but all of the little footsteps aren't picked up. I left the sub full-on and it worked fine, but I can't turn on and off the two subs manually. It's nothing to write home about. I turned on the service to play music, but it was lacking. I would avoid everything.
👤I connected this to a set of speakers from the M25 series. The easiest way to get to the sub would be to use the LFE rca/out from the speakers. The sound left me disappointed. The sub was not delivering on the frequencies I was hoping for. I tried the speaker out with high level connections on the speakers and sub before packing it up and sending it back. There was a huge improvement. I don't know if I should have read the directions, but I would have done that. It sounds good now. The sound of the Peachtrees is really rounded out.
👤I bought this at a lower price and it looked great. I've been working on a budget 5.1 solution for a small apartment. The micca rb42x series is refurbished. I was looking for solutions that were under $150. I started looking at the 10 through 15 inch options after reading positive reviews of the theater solutions subs. If acoustic audio and theater solutions are the same company, they have different logos on the box. I decided to use the 10 inch front firing from acoustic audio because it just happened to work out that way. If you wanted to expand down the line, I appreciate the input options and ability to daisy chain signal. If you set the power switch to the center option, the sub will power on and off with the receiver. If you need a new set of RCAS, I would get one because it's cheap and can cause humming problems if it's not aligned perfectly. If you use speaker wire or LFE hookups, the male end of the receiver is relatively loose. If you only have small bookshelves in the front, this item fills the low and mid-low range. If you have towers with larger woofers, you might want to upgrade to a 12 or 15 to fill the low end better. I might get a matching daisy chain to round out the low end and set this 10" at a higher freq to blend the mid-bass and set the 15" for the sub-45hz freq. The setup adds more flexibility and range for less than a single higher end sub. If you have enough space, I will always recommend multiple budget subs vs one more expensive subs.
The control of a device with a wireless network.
👤I bought a speaker from Amazon. You need a mobile app to use this speaker for calibrating it. There is a known issue that is ongoing that the application and the sub are not connecting properly. There is a well known ongoing problem that the update steps don't work, and ELAC send a firmware update that is intended to solve this problem. The subwoofer is useless without the initial set up. You need to take leave in order to get support on the phone, because support is only 9-5 on weekdays. The issues seem amateurish for a company of this stature. I will not recommend this product unless it is addressed.
👤I have a large living room and while I put together an amazing group of speakers, the room was empty without a sub. I bought it immediately after it dropped to below $300, and I could not have been happier with my purchase. I absolutely love this sub, it's worth every bit of the $400 retail price. Night mode works pretty well, and I have had no problems connecting to it via bluetooth from my phone. It can do every range of boom you want, and it just straight up sounds clean and fills the gap the speakers can't cover. I love it! You need a shielded cable for this. It will be wasted power and lifetime if it is left buzzing by cheap rcs.
👤I've been building an ELAC Home Theater for a long time and it was time to upgrade my sub. The whole soundstage is bigger and more cohesive with the addition of this sub. For me, power is not the most important thing, it's more about the soundstage, where you can feel the separation of instruments on a track or place off screen elements in a movie. I didn't know how much I was missing with my other sub because this subs helps the whole ELAC system achieve that. Placing and calibration are important. I haven't gotten to the perfect placement yet, but I'm having fun playing with it and trying to notice differences when making changes.
👤Elac's reputation for building amazing audio equipment is unquestioned. I purchased the Elac Debut Reference 2 speakers after a lot of research. It made sense to include Elac in a sub. I bought the Elac SB3010 sub for myself. It fits perfectly with my Elac speakers and IOTAVX Amp and Pro-Ject Debut turntable and add's exactly what I was hoping for. I am not crazy about the app. I asked Elac why there wasn't an up-to-date instruction manual for the app. A complete app instruction manual is a mistake for a company that creates amazing sound products.
👤The Polk sub had an amplifier that burned up for the second time. I use the original ELAC Debut. The ELAC sub is a nice companion. I was worried that a 10" sub would sound weak after a while. It doesn't. The sound experience at the ELAC is superior. The Polk was sloppy. I didn't like the new ELAC controls, but once they were set I didn't have to mess with them again. The old Polk was a real improvement. Half of the retail price is a steal.
The front-firing woofer is powerful. 300 watt of dynamic power is delivered by the alldigital amplifier. It's equally impressive with music and movies. There is a low pass crossover and phase control. Inches. Line/LFE inputs are used for most receivers.
👤I own the 10” and 12” The tighter bass is achieved by the 10” compared to the 12” The 10” will get the job done, even though the 12” has more oomph. I love both of them.
👤It's hard to find a good subwoofer based on reviews. Different buyers look for different things. I've been playing music since the early sixties. A person might think that I want a lot of bottom end. I do. I want it to be in the mix. The engineer heard the sound in the studio. Here's the thing. That is not boom. It is a very different sound than what one hears, for instance, something out of the windows of many teenagers automobiles. Or out of a boombox. The Klipsch Reference R-10 SW is a musical instrument. It is tight. It is accurate. It can be those things at a high level. It goes deep. One needs to reproduce anything but a pipe organ. I bought one of the B-stock refurbished ones through Amazon. It works as new. It arrived quickly. I would do that again in a second. It is recommended. Unless you prefer "boom."
👤I can't turn it up more than a quarter of the way or my house will start to shake violently. This thing does a better job than I anticipated. I bought it because of the good reviews. My wife hates this speaker and it makes me love it more. This is the best sub you can get.
👤I didn't expect much out of the Reference 10, but after seeing the two next to each other, I was impressed. It blew me away. I was most impressed by the fact that the 10" is not as bright as the 15" and that it has a very open sound, which is something that can't be found in the 15". It was worth every penny.
👤I have it in my family room. This thing is very strong. The bass is tight. I've had this for 2 and 1/2 months now and have family and friends visit us a few times. Everyone is very impressed with this device. My basement will be the location of a legit home theater, and Klipsch subs will be a part of it.
👤I had a Polk PSW10 for a while. I have been able to purchase other Klipsch speakers. The sound I get from this sub is just powerful. How do you describe a sound? The sub can thump, but you can hear it and feel it when watching movies. My Klipsch speakers are clear and have no distortion. The sub fills the room with a wonderful sound. I love this sub and have nothing but praise for the brand. The sub is great for watching movies, listening to music, or just watching TV. It's a no-brainer to have it with other Klipsch speakers.
👤The Klipsch speakers I got for the other part of my 7.2 setup are great, but they don't know how to make subs. The quality of these subs makes it sound like it's at even mild levels of bass. It's easy to reproduce, just watch any movie with lots of bass, John Wick 2, or Ori and the Will of the Wisps, anything with a deep + soft low bass sound intended to be a soft rumble ends up sounding like a helicopter with these! The problem seems to stem from a design flaw with how they expel air out the back, creating this terrible "wing buffet" noise, as well as some internal rattle, it seems as well. subs only about a week old at this point, will be returning them immediately and getting Polk subs
10 inches long-throw Cerametallic Woofer. The Maimum acoustic output is 118 decibels. Wireless with an accessory. The power cord was included.
👤I've been through 3 different subs and have put together an atmos system with a Denon receiver and originally all klipsch reference speakers, I love the rest of their speakers, but their subs seem to be their achilles heel! I had a dual klipsch 10- SW that had horrible port noise tapping sounds with deep bass that was meant to be a "deep rumble", I returned them both and tried Polk, their 10" sub was even worse. I ordered the sub from Amazon because they had a better price, and it was perfect, I needed a sub for gunshots, collisions, explosions, music drum hits, etc. Zero port noise and flawless bass reproduction in any scene, movie, game, you name it! After only 4 months, it started making these terrible "flapping" sounds, usually when there is actually "quieter" bass like ominous rumbles and such. I was able to get in touch with their tech support and arrange for a replacement unit. The new unit sounded great for about a month, but then I started hearing a "rattling" sound during the same rumble bits in games and movies. I was about to give it up, but I called Amazon and they wouldn't give me a refund, so I bought a sealed sub from the store, to see if the subs were on par. I ordered a replacement part from Klipsch, but before it arrived, I disassembled the woofer and looked for the source of the rattling sound, and it seemed to be something to do with the tape they have holding the power cables to the inner. I sprayed the stuff all over it because I felt I had nothing to lose. The rattling is gone, and the sound of the sub is a million bucks. I installed the new Klipsch replacement for schitt's creek and giggles, and it still had the rattling sound, but it was brand new. I put my previous one back in and it was smooth as butter. You might need to make sure you have a can of WD-40 on hand, a set of front screws, and a hex bit to make sure you get the ultimate sub for $400-500. In the end, it's worth it, and Klipsch is the only brand that comes close to the BOOM of Klipsch!
👤This has been the most frustrating experience I have ever had. I had a Klipsch sub that failed. It was a great one. I was loyal to the brand and went for the SPL-100. USPS was handling the shipping for whatever reason. At first, it seemed to be on-track, but then all status updates stopped. It might be lost, according to Amazon. The USPS status is still in the system with a last update. Anyway... I called Amazon and they were great. The replacement was sent to me by AMZN, not the USPS. It arrived in 2 days and has been working great. I loved the sub. The bass is gone when I turn on some Mandalorian. Hmm. After about 30 minutes of checking everything was set up correctly, I pulled the sub cable out of the receiver and tapped on it with my thumb. It's dead, ugh. They won't let me do the process of getting this sub again, so I called Amazon. We need to get Klipsch involved. I'm frustrated at everyone at this point, but we'll see how this all works out. USPS, Amazon, and Klipsch. Good grief.
The front-firing Cerametallic woofers are Spun copper. The driver is 12-inch. It's compatible with almost any receiver. The grille is strong and flexible. The contemporary finish is easy to integrate with any decor. The dimensions are 16” H x 14” W x 19.25” D. The box has a Sub 120 Subwoofer and power cord. The corner is where you want your subwoofer to be for optimal performance.
👤The sub didn't work out of the box. There was no sound or buzz test. I called customer support and was on hold for 30 minutes before I hung up, tried multiple times with no luck, and got an email response a week later saying they didn't forget me. It's funny. He called Klipsch support with no answer, and finally set up a return to Amazon after calling Amazon very helpful. Without Amazon's help, I would be stuck, I like Klipsch but don't count on their support.
👤This is not my first Klipsch component, but it will not be my last. The Klipsch R12 SW was damaged during a move and I bought this to replace it. I paid more for the R12 SW but the Black Label looks more high end. The two units look the same. Klipsch is the main audio speaker in my house. Well made and sound good.
👤I own a JBL system and love it. The.1 is actually two 10" 550P's with 300/500 Watts. The problem is that they are ver clean with thick cabinets. It's great for music enjoyment, but not for Home Theatre. When the Death Star passed by or the Law rocket was fired, I needed the number. There is a great deal on the Klipsch Black label. 400 watt sub. And it was delivered... I had to turn it down because it was so much. If you want the rumble to be put back into your movies, this is it. It was a steal of a deal at $249.
👤You will be happy getting this sub. It is amazing. It looks good and it produces solid bass. I would recommend this sub for someone who is looking for a clean, responsive bass.
👤We have a TV sound system and a receiver. We had a Polk sub that was moved to the basement to support the sound of the Sound Towers which has been working perfectly for 8 years. The Klipsch works great, it has enough base for the TV sound system and works great with music as well. It is the same product as the Polk which weighs 10 pounds more. This product deserves a 5 star review.
👤Wow! The Boston acoustic XB6 was the one I had. Supposed to be one of the best. The entire sound of our surround system has changed because of the Klipsch. The bass had to be turned down. This thing is free of distortion. I will break it in correctly. It is awesome! You want this one.
👤I thought the description of the 12” Front-Firing Subwoofer indicated the size of the unit. This thing does not fit in my space. I would not have bought this if I had seen it in person. I'm screwed because I can't exchange with this seller. Great stuff, but beware of Walts TV. Don't get screwed like I did. It was an expensive mistake.
The front-firing Cerametallic woofers are Spun copper. A front-firing driver. The grille is strong and flexible. Digital amplifier for high-efficiency and sound accuracy. It needs to be connected to a processor or pre-amp. The contemporary finish is easy to integrate with any decor. The dimensions are 14” H x 12.5” W x 15.7” D.
👤The Elac Uni-fi 2.0 speakers were upgraded to the Def Tech ProCinema 1000 front and center speakers. The speakers sound great. We hunted around for an upgrade because my old SW was woefully inadequate. The family room is large at about 16' x 28' and has a wide corridor to the entry and a kitchen and bar area on one side. I assumed we would need a bigger SW. We bought Klipsch's 12sw. It wasn't subtle, didn't blend with the Elacs at all, and was too boomy at lower volumes. It was not pleasant to listen to. I was able to return the Klipsch thanks to a particular wholesale membership warehouse. Thankfully. While this speaker is a Klipsch, it is their newer design and we took a shot and bought one, even though I could not determine if they made changes in the crossover or the woofer. This SW fits in perfectly. It blends well with the Elacs, fills the room well, adds rather than takes over lower level audio content, and really comes alive at mid volumes. We can keep the volume very moderate and still get solid enhancement of base frequencies, like space ship engines and gun fire. We're very pleased with this SW. If this didn't work out, I would have spent $600 on the Elac SW. This SW worked well for our needs because we have a larger room. It's not small, but it's a lot smaller than the 12" version.
👤I live in a two level house. I went into the street to check the mail today and could hear the fight scene from the movie from 30 yards away. Having a set of speakers with a sub that destroys the neighborhood is a penny-pinching delight sent from above. This makes a serious home theater that everyone loves. I do anyway, but not as much as the neighbors.
👤I had an old subwoofer that worked well for over a decade before it kicked the bucket. I debated between this one and the Polk Audio 10" sub. I didn't know how much bass was missing from my movies and music. This thing is really hot! It has the power to make sound so that you can hear it outside. The home theater has bones in it. I was really impressed with how much sound you get from a small unit. I was very happy with the purchase.
👤I bought a reference for the same price. When I compared the two, the infinity was better. I needed something that could keep up, so I purchased from Klipsch reference towers. The Klipsch sub is good for its size, and it is not broken in yet.
👤A good value when on sale. Avoid retail prices. The sub is half off and it is a huge value. It is not the deepest of lows, but it is enough to enjoy movies and music. The quantity and quality of the bass are surprising. This unit is small enough to be placed anywhere because the surrounding cabinet is so small. Would I recommend this sub to others? No. Better subs are available from other brands. Is it a good idea to recommend it on sale? Absolutely! The value is half off.
The power cord was included. The chest rumbling home theater special effects produced high output. The Pure Home Theater Subwoofer is powerful. It's perfect for home theater systems that need more oomph. It matches with any system. You can use a single pair or a pair for rooms larger than 400 sq. ft. When used in high powered home theater applications, predator is devastating, but also transforms the serious gaming experience and partners beautifully with active wireless speakers for music reproduction. The CarbonGlas driver is compatible with the HT- Air Wireless. 3 years parts and labor on new products is the warranty. REL products and parts are covered. They will repair or replace any parts for free. The warranty is not replaceable.
👤My favorite monster. She can be so subtle that you feel a deep rumble in your chest when she fades into the background. The bass is clean and powerful. It was worth the money. The driver is tight.
👤A great performer. Simple setup. A huge soundstage. 10” was replaced. REL sub is happy with this one.
👤I bought 2 at first. I was underwhelmed at first. They require about 20 hours of breakin before they can blast them. They were not very loud before that. I was second guessing my purchase at first. They sounded great once they opened up. Put the gain at 9 o clock and let them run with some deep bass music. Set the gain to 11 and let them do it. The break in period should be front and center in the packaging. I bought 2 more and can't wait to see what 4 can do.
👤I decided to buy two of them after a lot of research. They don't have the extension that other subs have, but they do punch hard, go low, and sound clear. The bass is well defined. In the past, I could hear my sub pressurizing the room with bass, but it was just bass and nothing else. I can hear the sound of the bass, well defined notes and not just a boom. There is a There is no high level input now, that's a big negative. I was going to buy a Rel Airship that would send a signal and make my Predator act like an S model. You can't! The 1508 doesn't have separate input levels. That was very upsetting. After a week of use, I can hear both subs buzzing when I'm close, but they weren't making this noise on the previous day, so I threw the boxes away. I hope they don't get the worst. I mean less than three feet away.
High Wattage Power OutputCompact 1U design subwoofer amplifier delivers plenty of solid clean power with high fidelity, strong and deep bass frequencies to drive medium-to-large sized in-wall or floor stand style subwoofer speakers. It provides 1000 watt peak power, which makes your home audio and home theater audio system sound like it came from the cinema. The easy connection to any system includes a stereo/mono line level audio input that can receive full band audio from any audio amplifier, receiver or LFE input, also features a stereo speaker level input/outputs connector and passthrough for easy to work with older amplifier/ Set and save your bass frequencies and volume levels for music listening, movies and late night mode. The menu function screen has a selection knob that can be used to adjust Master Volume Level, Crossover Frequency, 4 different Slopes, Phase, and 4 different Low Cut. Store up to 3 presents are designed for 8” and 10” subs. A three way switch on the rear panel allows you to set the 12Vtrigger mode, auto on/off by music signal detect mode, or always on mode. The function can be turned off from the menu or choose from 5 minutes to 30 minutes.
👤I don't really use this product exactly as intended, but it was the lowest cost replacement amplifier I could find to power my Buttkicker LFE that output the appropriate power level. It seems to work well so far and the different options allow me to fine tune the setup. I just adjust the output on my receiver when I need it. It serves its purpose well so far without being heavy or expensive.
👤It was replaced with a new one that had plenty of running power and sounded great. It drives my big speaker to concert levels. I can play music without turning on or off the amplifier with the auto on feature. It works with any audio device. It has a good build quality and is well finished.
👤I've owned a pair of the Cerwin-Vega XLS- 215 (w/ dual 15" subs in each cabinet) for about 10 years and have never been able to get them to sound right. There is a I decided to give them a shot after running across this amplifier. I had to buy an amplifier for each speaker cabinet since they are single/mono channel. I took away 1 star because I would have only had to buy one amplifier if it was a dual channel. The sound is amazing. I've never heard speakers sound like this. My wife told me that I was not allowed to return the amplifier or she would be upset. If you need a lot of power to drive inefficient subs, you would do well to give this amplifier. Good luck.
👤It really hits the bass. The bass is made of Klipsch. The amplifier went out under warranty twice. I added some clips and hooked it up because I don't want an internal amplifier anymore. I have an external amplifier that moves the 15 inch better than the Klipsch amplifier. The video was on a sub. The range of an Amp is 9db to -9db. The 12volttrigger is not a regular one on my other devices. I don't know what cable to use. I answered questions quickly but with poor cable options. I am not sure if the email answer knows this device. Klipsch should be ashamed of their design. Twice in 8 years. Hard bass music is not used for LFE purposes.
👤I had it for a day. It has a low end range of 10 hz. The amplifier says it can power that low. It doesn't kick in until north of 35 hz. I have the value all the way down to 35hz. I am hearing sound at 80hz. The Nobsound states it can only go down to 20hertz. The Nobsound/shakers kicked in sub 35 hertz and rolled off at 40 hertz. I will give these more time. I will come back here to edit if this is in line. Otherwise, returning it.
👤Two years ago, we had a professional install the home theater system that came with two 10” in-wall subs and a SA1000 sub amplifier, but the sub amplifier blew out last month. If we upgrade the higher output power sub amplifier, we should choose between Nuvo 200 and Soundavo PSB-400, both of them have the same spec, but this one has more power and has a screen with a digital signal processor. Since we already have pre-wired our system, we can just replace the cables from the SA 1000 with the existing wires. Wow... It's easy to adjust the subsonic filter and the low end punch sound, just follow the user manual. I am very happy with the result of my purchase, the building quality looks good, it is easy to hook up, and the sound is great.
There is a high EFFICIENCY for small to medium sized rooms. The HTS 12 features a long throw woofer with Polk's proprietary Dynamic Balance Technology designed to fill your room with three-dimensional sound in great clarity. The sleek rounded corners are a highlight, but this sub will surely take your movie and music experience up a notch with its deep rumbling bass from the in-built 200 watt amplifier. Potent Power Port Technology delivers deeper bass response with its turbulence-smoothing diffuser that transitions air flow from the speaker into your listening area, minimizing any kind of distortion and delivering rich full-range sound everywhere. The sub comes with LFE and stereo line level inputs. Pair it with any of Polk's Signature series 2-channel stereo speakers or create a complete home theater with S60 tower, S20 bookshelf and S35 center channel speakers. The rear panel has all the controls for volume, low pass filter, and phase toggle that are needed for optimum bass levels. The front has a clean look. Polk has a commitment and expert craftmanship with their use of advanced technology, master engineering, and innovation, which helps them bring out the best in sound systems and speakers. So you can relax and listen.
👤The sound of the sub is good when on. A dud. When off for a while, the status led will go off. When the unit is set to auto on, it no longer turns back on using the 12vtrigger from the reciever. Plug the power back in after a while to get it working. Even tried with another reciever and still had an issue. I contacted tech support and got no response over a week later. I got an email reply. They said they were too busy and that if I still need help, they would be happy to help. I tried that and was hung up after talking to a rep. 45 minutes was wasted. There is still a broken item.
👤I need to replace 2 non-working subs. I bought a 1000W Paradigm Servo 15 in 2006 for $2000. An old Polk model that was small but great bass was the other. I had gotten a 50W Polk sub as part of a HTIB several years ago, and I only have one remaining working sub. I decided to upgrade my sub to something more punch than 50W after purchasing a brand new 5 speaker surround set-up, a new Sony receiver, a 4K dvd player, and a new Sony TV. I know what an earthquake is like having owned the Servo. I wouldn't need that powerful in my family room. The HTS 12 would be great. The difference in power specifications is important. The description usually lists peak power, which is double what the RMS power is. The sub can put out power continuously. A brief burst of power is what the peak power is. The sub has a 200W rating but a 400W peak. I put the sub on an Auralex Gramma foam isolation pad to prevent room shaking from the laminate flooring. I have it at 80% volume and an 80HZ point. It wasn't long before I noticed my chair vibrating. This bass is powerful. Clean bass is the other thing to look for in a sub. A lot of subs can put out a lot of power. Loud is not good. You want the sub to disappear so that you don't even realize it's there. This sub does that well. It looks good. There is a huge port on the bottom. It's too powerful and I can't believe it's only 200W. I'm going to buy another and put them in my basement to replace my Paradigm. I don't need the floor to shake constantly so I'm going to put the 100W HTS10 in my family room. I was very happy with my purchase.
👤I'm a story teller and so I'm going to tell some of the issues and why this sub was kept. There is a Even though Amazon left it at the door for anyone to take it, I was very happy when I got the sub. I may have never gotten the sub if I came home early. After opening the sub, my expectation went up even higher. I had to make sure I had a place for it, so I cleaned out my closet. I was anticipating that this sub would have the punching power to give the lows and that I could create an enclosure like a closet to only hear the sound of resonance. I quickly learned that this isn't a sub that packs power. When I closed the closet door, I didn't hear the sub at all. After doing various tests, including listening to this sub, all other channels were unplugged. This is where I knew that the receiver wasn't powerful. I sat on my couch and prepared myself to repackage it and send it back. I read the instructions while getting the wrappers together. The instructions are written in different languages so they have a book feel to them. When I read through the instructions, I was surprised to see that it said that rap is the best test case for the sub as it has lows in most of it's music. They gave instructions on where to place the sub. I don't usually read instructions. I was wondering if I missed something after reading these. The speaker was placed in a section. I decided to listen to my old subs and this new one. I have two other Polk 505s. I was able to get two of those subs because I bought both of them on sale. The Polk 505s have limitations. The 505s try to amplify, but really they sound like paper flapping loudly. The HTS 12' doesn't amplify at close range, but it makes a sound at low frequencies. The words are close to each other. After listening to the Polk HTS further back, they sound good, not 400 dollars good. They sound good for the price. I was hesitant to keep them. I didn't get the amplification I was looking for. I made a final decision, I said I would follow the instructions and place the speaker next to the Front speakers. The Polk Audio Monitor 70 Series II Floorstanding Speaker was placed with the 3 other speakers. I played some of the music I used to play on my speakers. I will give you a quick list of those records. I quickly understood the purpose of this sub when I started listening to the music. The Polk HTS sub is all about place. The Polk HTS is a back up singer, meaning it can sound adequate by itself, but it really shapes the way bass lines are supposed to sound. The Polk HTS looks like it has a nipple like other subs, but it isn't using this new cone technology. The Polk HTS uses technology that makes it amplify at low frequencies about 4 to 6 feet in front of the sub. The target area of amplification is the center living room. The Polk HTS offers frequencies. The Polk HTS sub does not have a powerful bass line sound, but it does shape how the bass sound is. This is true when you pair the Polk 505s with me and I have 2 of them. There is a place behind my TV and a place next to my couch. You get those.2 frequencies and they sound great when adjusted. I used to like the songs that were missing. I have the HTS, which has alleviated these concerns. The Polk HTS is focused on bass quality and not shaking your home. I have both with the HTS and the 505s. I need to find a place to put it. It would only be an even number of subs if I bought it. I would only recommend this speaker if you understand the concept of placing this speaker next to your front speaker and it compliment subs that are already hard hitting. The Polk HTS has a warm sound. The bass line is shaped by the HTS. I advise users of HTS to keep their receiver at 80hz and to tune the speaker at the highest frequencies. I think the HTS goes up to 120hz, but you will get all the benefits of this receiver if you place it there. If you get the HTS, I will give you 2 or place it with others you already have. The sub lacks power. That's okay. You can squeeze the juice out of it if it's placed right.
The large motor is for bass. The vocal clarity can be achieved with a 5 1/4" midrange. The dome is soft for crisp highs. The bass cabinet is for extended lows.
👤I noticed that things weren't sounding right so I looked into it. The front panel that holds all the speakers is separated, then took the speakers out because the box felt unbalanced, then saw two of the magnets were off and sitting on one side. It lasted about 6 months.
👤Using a music hall cd player and a pro-ject recordmaster turntable with ortofon 10 stylus, I was able to create a two channel stereo. This is mostly used for records. After about 15 minutes, they warmed up and sounded flat. I am already in love with them and have about 10 hours on them. CV's are only good for volume, bass is boomy, yadda yadda. The high end is not good. I am not experiencing this. Bass was boomy when it was too close to the wall, but it was no longer an issue. The high end is clear. They sound great. I was aiming for them to be large. A wise man said in a previous post that there is no replacement for displacement.
👤The SL-15 is a three-way floor tower speaker. I don't think you will need a sub woofer with these, so you will save money in the long run setting up a 2 ch system. There is no reason why these speakers can't be used for all kinds of music listening. I have sensitive ears and the high sound from these speakers is not as sharp as some new speakers I have heard, but the tone from the woofers balances it out, so I will say it. The speakers made my vintage Pioneer sound better than it ever has, it always had detail, but never had enough bass tone, and the CV speakers are efficient enough to get some pretty good volume even in my small living room. I have a 150 watt amplifier that I will try and follow up with, but in a small room it might be too much for these speakers. I will probably listen to a lot more of my old Pioneer. These type large old school floor standers are hard to find these days, the ones that are out there are mostly over priced, and some of those are just big shelf speakers on stands, I don't like the tall skinny tower speakers. The CV sL-15 speakers are big box speakers, but they fit well, even though I could have measured them better. Product dimensions are 19.7 inches. Deep x 16.6 Wide by 35.9 inches tall. These speakers are assembled in China and designed in the US and have a weight of 72.50 pounds. They were well packed. Thanks!
👤How to say this? The speaker is twice as large as I thought it would be. I bought it to replace an old Boston Acoustics cheap center channel, but you need a lot of room in your cabinet. The shelf above the TV that had the speaker before is going to need some refitting before I feel safe with the new unit. I should have looked at the product's dimensions; it's a long, thin, and deep product, and it weighs about 20 lbs. The original shelf is holding, but I'm not comfortable with it. If you have a TV on top of a cabinet, it won't fit in front of a standard soundbar. I will put the Polk center speaker wall mounts up as soon as I receive them. I have no complaints about the sound of the speaker. It's crisp, has excellent range, and made my audio rendering issues go away. The sound is good at both high and low volume. The difference between the sound I get from my computer and the sound I get from the receiver is remarkable. Would I buy again? I might've gone with a smaller model.
The driver has a low throw dynamic woofer with inputs. The Subwoofer is powered by a high performance amplifier. 200 Watts Peak. 50 250 hertz Frequency Response. The range of the splitter is up to 10 meters.
👤I have been in the audio industry for thirty years. Over the years, I have worked for two very prominent speaker companies. It's hard to believe anyone can deliver a good one for this small amount of money. This thing sounds good, goes low, and hits hard enough to be the only sub most people need, unless they are listening at very high levels. Most people will only need one, so I am buying a second one to relieve my excess excursion at high levels. This thing is a deal.
👤An excellent enclosure, a good speaker and a fair amplifier is what this is. This is a good choice if you want a clean bass at a reasonable price. If you want powerful bass then you should buy a powerful sub. The first unit I received had a constant annoying AC hum, regardless of how I configured it, how I connected AC power, or which receiver I connected. The replacement has barely audible background hum, which is fine for an amplifier in this price range. The gain of this amplifier is barely adequate. I can adjust the output gain level for each speaker. The maximum output level is set at +12dB. I get acceptable sound with the output level set in the middle of the range. If your receiver doesn't allow you to set the gain of the line-level output, you might want to try the speaker-level inputs. If you study the output sound level curve for this sub in the tests published by Wirecutter, you'll see that its Frequency response falls-off substantially below 50 Hz. I boosted the band of my pre-amp equalizer by about 4 decibels to compensate for this, without making the sound sound boom. Depending on your speakers and placement, you might find other settings work better. The port on this sub has internal bends. I think facing it down is the best way to go if you are going to have a port. The sound is more "live" when my sub sits on a hard surface. I put a couple layers of rubber drawer liner underneath it to make it sound a bit more mellow. This makes it sound like it's on a carpeted floor. I have dense rubber pads under my feet. This wouldn't be necessary on a carpeted floor. It's too early to assess long-term reliability. If I encounter any problems later, I will update this review. * The power draw is measured when the amplifier is not running. It draws about 5 Watts when it's not being used. The setting of the switch does not seem to affect the measurement. I am going to leave this thing powered on until I return. It is harder to turn on an amplifier than it is to leave it alone.
👤The cardboard box was so thin it ripped up and the speaker inside was damaged. I tried it out and it was fine. Thank you for making the return easy. I don't know why there are good reviews of it here and in online articles, even in the "economic" category, it's just not worth it. Without a smooth transition from the sound of the mains it just "womps" when the bass kicks in. I know how to set up a sound system. I was going to spend more money and look for Polk, but I found it for $10 less than the Monoprice found. The Monoprice case was damaged, but the Polk sounds better.
