Excess cable can be stored in-wall and there is slack for convenient access to the back of the TV. The media center can be moved closer to the wall. A 125V receptacle is included. The cable access strap is easy to use. The total outlet is 2. The easy extension of electrical wiring is supported by the other products in the family.
👤There are wires behind my TV. I wanted something that was durable, usable, and good looking. I like that the unit is not square so that furniture can be closer to the wall. Since the three main ports are decora, they can be changed out to be whatever you want. You can change the location of the power outlet. The mechanism for holding the unit on the wall is good. I've taken it off a few times and I haven't had any issues with it. I put a piece of lath at the top and bottom of the hole so that I wouldn't damage the drywall if I tightened the screws too tight. That makes for a good installation. The brush insert was the only thing I kept. I added a keystone plate instead of an outlet and replaced the screw-back speaker plates with ones that have more terminals. I replaced the silver screws with white ones. I'm very happy with this unit, even though I only used the shell. It is holding up a lot of hardware.
👤This uses standard Decora inserts. To get the connections I wanted, I swapped my own keystone plates in. If you need to get more cables to your TV, there's an additional knockout on the top. I like that it allows me to expand in the future. I wish it had the brush. There is a The bad? The screws are made of silver. It's not a big deal if your TV is in front of it, but it looks cheap to have metal screws. The outlet box for power is an old style one that you can find at big box stores. I expected a more elegant solution. It did the job and was easy to hook up. I didn't know how it would fit in a wall. It's your wall, but it should fit.
👤I took the opportunity to run my surround and subwoofer wiring under the house while I was remodeling it, and this box fit the bill. The box is easy to install and can be tailored to your liking. I replaced that section with a Legrand On-Q decora 4-port keystone plate because I didn't need the front speakers. I ran a patch cord up to the TV and hardwired the receiver and PS3 to the other ports.
👤We hired a professional to hang the tv and hang the wall mount. The outlet has a lot of plugs and space. The TV is flush on the wall. Exactly what we wanted.
👤It's a good way to clean up the installation.
👤Excited to install. The product seems to fit my needs. Thank you.
👤Speaker wire coming out of the wall is much cleaner. The brush plate was swapped out for a cat 6 wall plate.
The sound quality and Polk's excellent sound reproduction can be heard with these timbre-matched speakers. You can pair their speakers with your existing home theater system or build your own Polk collection. Experience more balance and lifelike sound with an 8” dynamic-balance woofer and a 1” tweeter. Wide dispersion is created by mineral-filled cone and strong driver baskets. The rubber seal drives are a key feature for use in a bathroom, kitchen, and closet. In 3 simple steps, you can get these speakers out of the box and into the wall. If you want to make the grilles disappear, leave the paintable aluminum grilles as is or spray paint them. One of the most trusted names in home audio speakers and entertainment systems is Polk. They bring out the best in technology so you can relax and listen.
👤They needed a few days to break in, but I thought they were tinny. They sound great now. There was a lot of bass. The sub should take care of the low end now that I have a cross-over at 80Hz. They looked great and were easy to install. As we use them more, they get better. I turned off the receiver after we watched the movie, but I didn't realize the subs was off until after the movie was over. I didn't even notice that there was a lot of low end just from the RC85i's. When I noticed this, I turned everything back on and watched the movie without even noticing the bass was off, which is a big deal for these speakers. There was an update on July 17, 2019. These continue to impress me. I changed my set as these have an 8 inch sub and should be ok with the lower frequencies, and I can confirm that they are. I like it without the bass being too full, but I had to turn down my sub as a lot more bass is coming from these front speakers. I would buy them again.
👤The installation of the speakers looks great. The sound quality is great. I was happy to have taken advantage of the combo purchase of these with the center speaker and two rear/ceiling speakers. I finished off the setup with a Polk's 12 watt sub. I have not experienced this after watching loud movies, and I read that some customers noticed that there was some rattling from the mesh covers. The mesh covers fit very snug and don't give me any reason to believe that they will be an issue in the future.
👤The price is unbeatable and the sounds are great. 5 stars on the speaker output. There is a The plastic rough-in components have a star deduction. If you don't screw the self-closing clamps of the housing to the wall, it will crack and you won't be able to hang it. You will not have any issues if you are careful and gentle. If you rush or force this, you will break one or two corners and not fit in the wall.
👤I've used these in-walls for both front and rear speakers. The sound quality is great, but a little flat compared to bookshelf type speakers. If you want speakers out of the way, these are a good way to go. We had these speakers installed in the home that I sold. The rear channel space of my home theater setup is very small. There are no places to mount rear channel speakers in the open floor layout so I chose to put these in the ceiling to give it a trim appearance. They do get the job done, but they are not designed for that. You can aim the tweeters for a different sound. These speakers are worthy of consideration.
👤I was pleasantly surprised by the sound of these speakers. I use these primarily for background music, and they produce nice sound, and have a clean look on the wall. Are these going to open new levels of depth and height to your music, which you haven't experienced before? No. Will these be the perfect speakers for your circuit parties? No. If you have a small house like me, the extra floor space and lack ofcluttering is important, and $150 a pair is probably the most bang for your buck out there. I don't think you'll find more value for your money if the goal is to add surround speakers, or background music while you are getting a shower, cooking, entertaining, or reading a book. I'm happy. It's a good idea to tighten the screws that anchor the speaker to the wall. I used the weakest setting on my drill, and it still broke one of the plastic clips that hold it in place. If you want to avoid this, you should tighten the screws by hand until they are snug. If you have old plaster and lathe walls, consider hiring a professional. If you screw up, it will be worth it. Installation is easy and straight forward.
Two-piece wall plate is mounted to a single-gang box. Accommodates four people. Bare wire, spades, or banana plugs are accepted on either side of the coupler type gold plated binding posts. There are black and red bands on the posts.
👤The coupler is easy to install in a single gang box. The house I built recently was wired for ceiling speakers but without speakers or a wall box where the wires would have ended. There are no plates on the boxes. It was easy to connect the speaker wires to the binding posts, just back out the nut and put stripped wire into the hole. The face plate should be secured with the short screws provided, and the box should be secured with the long screws. The connections from the amplifier were made using banana plugs.
👤It is easy to use. Sometimes the backer plate part of the screw is twisted when the wired back side is put in. I'm not sure why one wouldn't go this route for install, as most of these are not meant to have enough depth to use banana plugs on both sides, and I preder to know my wires in the wall aren't coming lose. If it happens, you can back out the female threaded cap, take out the wires and re-align the holes you want, by tightening the entire pass thru piece. Adjusting and taking the time is what I recommend. If you want hard wired, you will want them all to have the same input placement into the posts so it's not jacked up. Almost all of these are manufactured in a way that they can lose from time to time. Overall, these are effective. There were no issues with sound. My speakers do not have any issues that I am aware of. Good for the money.
👤I needed to upgrade from springs clips to biding posts for a nicer home theater install and started to upgrade my speakers and wiring in my home. I took a chance on these because they were cheap, and were available the next day. The quality of the wall plate and mounting is good. I was able to replace them with the existing gang box. I was able to cinch down the posts on the wire with my fingers because it was easy to install. They work great when I try them out with my new wires and speakers. I can't say how much resistance they add, but I assume it's minimal. I ordered 4 more for my basement project and they were very happy with them.
👤This was a simple setup for me. You can either screw down bare speaker wire or put banana plugs on the outbound side. It was clunky, crowded, and frustrating to use bare speaker wire on both sides. Purchase a decent set of banana plugs. I thought it would be a small deal since I don't plan on moving my setup any time soon and I could handle more set up headaches. That was not correct. It's a pain and almost every audio article recommends banana plugs. If you like to scraper your knuckles around cramped binding, then please be my guest.
👤I have installed 2 of these. They fit a box. I wired directly to the back of the device, but it's a little difficult to tighten the caps due to the space, but manageable. I like to have my speakers connected to the left. This is on the same side. It only took a few minutes to rearrange the mounts. I use banana plugs on the front side. After installing, there was no sound issue.
Ring Terminals, Speaker Terminals, and 5/16" Ring Terminals. The industry's thinnest mounts and tvs have low profile design. The power can be installed behind a wall mounted tv. The metal mounting Wings are attached to the top and bottom plates. The female end of the extension cord is in the wall.
👤Yesterday, I received and installed my conduit box. It's relatively easy to install, but before clicking "add to cart", you should invest in a stud finder. The locking brackets need space around the holes. If you cut the hole next to a stud, it won't lock in place. FireBLOCKS! The pieces are between the studs. Since you are probably hoisting your TV up on the wall, there is a good chance that you will run into someone trying to push your cables down the wall. Unless you know where they are, you will be upset when you cut two big holes in your wall and realize you have to cut another one to get your cables through the wall. I didn't have this problem but I can see how some people will get stuck dealing with it. In my photo, you can see where I put my box. The templates are good. It was difficult to install the bottom box. It took me a while to shave the wallboard. Push your electrical wire through the small, white box before pressing them into the connectors. Ooops. I sanded a small hole off the bottom so the main wire could fit without the other wires pulling out. It's easy to fix. I ran an extra pull line in the box for additional cables in the future but I now agree with others that you should just buy a second cable and run it at the same time. It will be difficult to pull wires through the holes in the cables in the future. I don't think there is a need for a second line, but if I do, I will have to pull the boxes out of the wall. The TV looks great on the wall with the boxes in place and the power cables zip-tied. It looks professional because there are no cables visible from the side. I didn't hurt myself, but my wife is happy with the results. This is a good product, but you need to plan. Check the wall for fireblocks. Make sure you have enough room for the locking clips.
👤You mounted your TV on the wall and saw all the cables, it wasn't perfect. This kit is the best and easiest decision I have ever made. It took me about an hour to install it. Before buying this product, you need to read a few notes. You need a tool to find them. 2. There are fireblocks. The horizontal and vertical studs are located in between each other. 3. You will cut inside the wall. 4. You will need a saw. 5. I used my stud finder to locate my two studs so I could install the tape measure in the middle. I used the stud finder to make sure there were no fireblocks between the studs. They give you a layout that you can trace on the wall with a pencil. This is probably the most important part of the installation so make sure to trace it correctly. You just grabbed your jab saw and started cutting. There is a I noticed after cutting that I have insulated walls and it was hard to fish down my cables, so I used this tip to my advantage. I fished the tape measure out of the water, then taped my cables to the tape measure, and everything came down very quickly. It is not safe and up to code to fish down your TV outlet source. The top receptacle has its own outlet. You can plug in your TV there. Even though there are two available plugs, I only plugged in my TV up there to be on the safe side. You just need to connect the two white receptacles on the top and bottom and the wire that comes with the top part to the white, black, and green wire, and you're good to go. You will have a nicer looking theatre.
The Multi-Purpose Cables Label is perfect for organizing cords. The gang box/mounting brackets are not included. It is easy to install and remove with no special tools required. The gang boxes have mounts on them. A clean and tidy installation can be achieved by eliminating the wiring along your baseboards. Matching binding posts on both sides with thumbscrews. 2 jacks. Up to 7 speakers and 2 subs can be connected. The front plate has dedicated labeling. Use with banana plugs. Depending on the depth of the gang box, banana plugs can be accommodated on both sides of the plate at the same time.
👤Since I was rebuilding the house, I decided to hide all the wires of my 5.2.4 system.
👤The problem is that the wall plate doesn't come with any white screws to mount to the standard 2-gang wall plate. If it stayed attached, it wouldn't be very durable, since they think you'll mount it directly to the wall. It's a mystery why the screws aren't included in the product. I am not the first person to review this model. They won't line up with most 2-gang boxes, but it would still be nice to have them.
👤The 7.2 Home Theater wall plate is very well made. The picture shows a 7.2 speaker wall plate, which is what the title description states. The price is pros. The cheapest 7.2 wall plate is well made, fits great with banana clips in-wall, and all necessary screw hardware is included. I used a label maker to label the ports the way I want them, and it works great. It was a great bang for your buck.
👤It was made well. If you need to spray paint the plastic plate a different color, the gold plated metal pieces can be removed and re-installed. The plugs fit neatly into the plate receptacle and are accepted for stranded speaker wire. The front and back of the plate have banana plugs or bare wires on them. Very pleased with appearance and performance. Would buy again. I have seen similar product at other stores and it was 2 to 3 times higher than at other stores.
👤You can get the same product in the stores for half the price. If you don't have the two gang back box, then you will need to make some wall modifications. The product itself was good, decent quality, and as good as anything I have purchased from Home Depot or Radio shack. Even if they had provided some labels for you to apply, it would have been better if you had a PC and a printer to make it.
👤There's not enough room for banana clips on both sides of the termination. If you push hard from one side, the tension on the other side will pop.
👤The hooks worked perfectly for my speaker system. I have a 5.1 system with 2 additional speakers in an adjacent room. I had a wiring mess. It's easy to install. Great look after. Really has a solid product. I connected my bare wire to the wall. I am using banana plugs. It makes a great connection between my receiver and speakers. My needs are slightly different so I bought the other side of my basement. Both products are great and would not hesitate to purchase them again.
👤I can't put banana plugs on both sides. I had to screw down a bare speaker wire connection on the back. I found that process annoying. I had to keep the wires short so that they would fit in the electrical box. The banana plug wouldn't go into it, so I had to drill out one of the plugs.
A high quality gold plated copper connection is built with Remium built. It is easy to install and remove with no special tools required. There is a color code. Matching binding posts on the front and back. Standard size gang boxes are not included. A clean and tidy installation can be achieved by eliminating the mess of wiring along the baseboards.
👤It was almost five stars. It seems that all of these products are made in the same Chinese factory. The quality is reasonable for the price. The one that fits with a standard Decora wall plate cover is different from the five speaker wall plate. If you are okay with using the supplied wall plate cover, you should use two of these instead of the five speaker product. Some reviewers report issues with stripped threads. The reviews are correct, but you should let the seller know. This happened to me when I used the five speaker product. Some banana plugs are too long to fit in the speaker receptacle. This issue has been encountered by other reviewers.
👤The product is easy to install. Make sure you have your wires spliced before you install the wall plate. I used banana plugs to connect the wires from the wall to the receiver.
👤I bought three of these Quad speaker units and ganged them together in a three gang assembly to create a 13 speaker interface behind my receiver. The middle unit was modified to provide a custom interface by exchanging the bottom two binding posts for two subwoofer posts. I am very happy with the quality and convenience of this product, and I can definitely recommend it.
👤I put two of these next to each other for an 8 speaker connection because they were easy to install. It works because movies sound amazing.
👤A hole in the wall allowed the speaker cable to come out. I don't have a problem with adding my own labels.
👤The connecting point for my surround sound speaker system was the wall plate. You think you are getting two of them in the picture. It is a front and back picture. Banana plugs can only be used on one side. The other side has to be hardwired. It made for a clean installation.
👤You can swap out a terminal for a coax easily. I ran a line to my amplifier. It's working great!
👤It works well and has a high density. I removed the plate from the wall cover because I wanted to use it with a wall box. The new wall box fit the Decor style plate perfectly. The cross threaded one did tighten down. If needed, I would buy again.
👤Plates cracked on the wall. The plugs are great.
👤A good product, but beware! The holes for securing the plate do not match the overall size of the plate. I drilled new holes in the wall plate, so you have to either buy a plate mounting separately or drill new holes in the wall plate. The description should state that fact. I have no complaints about the product at all.
👤The Terminal macht bei wertigen Eindruck. Ich ist das Terminal, so I have a problem with der Mae. Leerdosen ist das Terminal. Im Trockenbau ist das aber der Ausschnitt.
👤Quality control could be better because they look good and generally do the job. I had to use banana plugs inside the wall box because one of the locking nuts wouldn't tighten down on the wire I was using. The included screws are not the standard north american thread, but they were a fine thread and I had some left over from a previous reno.
A high quality gold plated copper connection is built with Remium built. It is easy to install and remove with no special tools required. There is a color code. Matching binding posts on the front and back. Standard size single gang boxes are not included. Also, note: The cover plate has a larger opening area and can only be used with the wall plate. A clean and tidy installation can be achieved by eliminating the mess of wiring along the baseboards.
👤I was thrilled to find a 5-pair faceplate that fits in a single gang. It is not deep enough and it is badly designed. At first glance, it looks like a banana plug in the front and a jack in the back. If you attach banana plugs to your in-wall wires, you can plug them into the back side of the jack, instead of trying to squeeze 10 wires into hard to reach side-holes without shorts. No chance. I discovered that if you put banana jacks into the back, they won't fit into the front because they were made too short. What a stupid design.
👤Do you want to remove this from the wall plate it came with? Maybe put it in an existing dual gang wall plate. Not going to happen. If you are going to make something like a wall plate connection panel, make sure it is compatible with all the other products on the market. I have never seen this incompatibility before with these brands. There are problems with fitting banana jacks due to the spacing, but I didn't get that far. It's not an acceptable or sensible approach by the manufacturer.
👤Here's the thing. If you're going to charge twice as much as Monoprice, you might try to raise the quality of what you sell. The barrels of these jacks are very thin. The edges of the barrels are left sharp. It's sure to cause a lot of trouble when they tighten them on bare wire. What more could anyone want than a few strands of severed wire straddling the posts and shorting your amplifier or receiver? If you're going to use "flex tips", you should buy a spare set because they won't last long. My advice? If you're buying more than one, go to Monoprice. The shipping will be covered by the difference in price.
👤The product is well-made. There is a standard horizontal spacing for dual banana plugs. Banana plugs are needed to be sure there is no contact between rows of terminals. The opening of the plate is not standard Decora. This was a problem for me when I wanted a double gang face plate. My hack was to cut off one edge on the face plates and join them together with a sliding compound. This worked well. Just score the plates with the power saw, then cut them all the way with a hack saw, and finish with a file. If you cut all the way with the power saw, you'll break the plate.
👤I needed this product to run wires through a wall. I was able to do it with only two gangs because of the four speaker single gang adapters that I had. There is one note for the person who is installing. The cover plate opening is longer than the standard two and a half inch. If you install this in a multi gang outlet box with multi gang cover plate, it mounts perfectly. You will need to use the cover plate that comes with this one as a template to cut the opening in the multi gang cover plate.
Their speaker wall plate is stunningly beautiful and built to last for years of worry-free use. The hidden screw hardware is easy to install and gives you a professional look. Hide all TV power sources with this product. The One Connect Box, Apple TV, Roku, or any other TV power sources can be securely held with the help of mounting brackets. The power source is fastened to the brackets with two 18 inch hook and loop fasteners. An open trim ring is needed to allow air flow for optimal performance. A duplex receptacle with a listed 15 Amp/125 Amp rating. This product comes with an outlet box.
👤It fits the one connect box just fine, and it works perfectly for my Frame tv.
👤It's compatible with OneConnect box and AppleTV. It is slightly overpriced for what it is. It helps with a clean install.
👤The plastic housing is strong, but not as strong as plastic will ever be. My bigger issue is that my wall studs are 16” on-center. I had to chisel/cut out a half inch from both adjacent walls to get the media box to fit, but it wasn't enough to stop me from doing it. I put a plastic gromet into the hole I punched out to stop the electric cable from fraying, as there is no cable holder to hold the wires in place. My wish is that the box width be adjusted. It's worth it to hide the box for my TV.
Depending on the depth of the gang box, banana plugs can be accommodated on both sides of the plate at the same time. Storage and distribution of structured wiring and audio visual components is what this is designed for. Can be placed behind most TV wall-mounts. 3rd party structured wiring components and compatible with devices like Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, network switches, and more. The mounting plate has a 1.5in elevation to accommodate larger devices and frees up space in the enclosure. The tool-free cover has a low profile and is designed to flush the wall.
👤I called Sanus/Legrand to inquire about a specific Sanus tv mount for my new tv, which is the same mount as in the pictures. On the 9" side, my height was about 1/8". On both ends, I marked a little over 1/66". The grinder was taken down the sides. It fit like a charm. The grinder took like 5 minutes to complete and the hand sanding took forever. A couple minutes with a cheap sanding block. It almost looks like a factory. I used a cable box and sound bar to run my cables. The 4k box is mounted on the wall. I put a duplex receptacle on the top and bottom and used zip ties to keep the romex tight to the box. I ordered a roll of USA made 1/2 Velcro from Amazon because it wasn't enough to keep everything bundled nicely and the Apple TV box secured. I could wrap my tv's power cord, Atv box, and all the different cables and keep them nice and neat. I bought a bundle that included the internal shelf to mount my Apple TV. Legrand sells rubber grommets for the pass through holes. The big blue box hardware store had about $2 left over. They protect the cable going in about the box from the inside. The Sanus and Legrand media enclosures are the same size. The Sanus is more expensive. They also sell a larger one-encase for anyone who wanted to mount their cable box in there. The description talks about the pass through cover. It is true to their word. I have not had a problem with the remote control for my Atv box. It comes with all the hardware needed to install this before Sheetrock is up or like me. I will buy this again. It was very easy to do. The sides were trimmed down.
👤The 65" Frame TV is manufactured by SAMSUNG. The installation went well. We did not use the mounting hardware for the inside of the box because it was not necessary to remove a flange to fit the one connect. It works great to hide the one connect, since you won't have room for any other devices.
👤The box will hold a lot of devices. It will take some planning to power those devices. I wanted my devices to be protected. The power distribution solution requires a 3-port surge protector and a flat extension cord. I needed to be able to plug certain items in at the right angle since I'm using the insert that has a network switch, Tivo box, IR Repeater, and running power out for the TV. I got some extension cords that were shorter to branch off the surge protectors. Everything is in the box. If I didn't need the network switch, it would be simpler, but it is necessary for my setup. Since the Tivo Remote doesn't need IR, the IR repeater may not be needed. That doesn't take up a lot of room. Surge-protected power delivery was the biggest challenge. There are many places to use zip-ties. The clips to hold the inner tray work well. It's not possible to install everything in the box before mounting it in the location, but you can attach the inner tray piece to the main box. I would use one of these again for another project. I will plan for the perfect size based on how much I cram into it.
Plug and play connections, 3.5 MM aux to a wire. The 3-Gang 7.2 surround sound distribution wall plate is compatible with 4K@60Hz and supports HDMI 2.0. The high-speed connecting devices are made of gold. The wall plate has a gold plated connection. The HDMI wall plate from Fosmon is a clean connection point for your audio/visual equipment. hiding cables in your walls is a way to remove cable clutter. All of your sound is included. This wall plate can be used to set up a surround sound system. This product has a limited lifetime warranty. Refer to the website for more information.
👤The plate was straight to the point and made my home theatre connections so easy to manage that I can just plug the receiver into the jacks. Behind the wall, cable management is done. I can't speak for the quality of the HDMI ports because I used this opening for a 6-port Keystone plate which I then used for the CAT6a network ports. I only mention it because there is a use case for someone to swap the included HDMI ports for something else that works better in their situation. As long as you have a standard Keystone plate, this can be done. A different plate can be installed just as quickly. The reason I removed a star from the review was because the jacks on the item were not good. After installing everything and mounting it to the wall, I was hit with a constant bass signal coming out of my woofer. I knew it wasn't coming from a specific source since my receiver was off. I removed the wall plate and found that the jack on the inside had broken and the plastic plug had been pushed through to the back. The signal pin was shorting the cable because of this. I moved the cable to the second jack and it broke the first one. I decided not to return the plate because I had some extra keystones and jacks that I just removed and put in this wall plate. There were no more breaking issues after that. If you buy this product, keep an eye on the sub jacks as the plastic looked brittle and could break over time.
👤3 of these were ordered. Two of the three have bad HDMI connections. I tried different cables and tried another outlet. After all of the work, I returned what I thought were faulty cables, but only one of my three actually function. I am going to swap the HDMI gang outlet for another brand because the speaker connections work on all three of them. A lot of work, a lot of problems, and a lot of wasted time. 1/3 of my order price was returned by the company because the gang outlet didn't work. I would try them again in the future. The stars were from 2 to 5. Customer support is great.
👤I like the fact that I can get a 7.2 wiring into one location. I don't need the HDMI because I wouldn't be using it in the walls. The option to include another four-set of post for the plate would be better. I was able to find an insert with eight posts and swap out the HDMI insert for it. This is a nice plate if I only did 7.2.
👤The wall plate cleaned up my cables. The wires and cables were fished out of my walls and put into a cabinet. I could have just bought a wall plate with a large hole in it to save a few bucks but the plate really adds that extra touch making it look very professional. The 6.1 configuration includes the Front Left, Front Right, Center, Surround Left, and Sub Woofer. You can also hook up 2 cables. The left, center, and right panel are released by the 6 screws on the wall plate. The front plate will be put back on after the panels are screwed to the low voltage 3 gang brackets. I used the PROS clean plate from the 3 gang low voltage brackets. The plugs glide in smoothly and are high quality. There is a The HDMI port supports both audio and video. The banana posts were loose upon arrival. It was easy to fix with a pair of pliers.

👤31 days ago. It sounded wonderful but it wasn't able to play at loud volumes. It overheated if it was over 50 volume. It's in protection mode with no speakers. Amazon won't accept returns on this item, so they know it's junk. Denon is bad. I'm out 1300 dollars. I sold my Yamaha which worked perfectly for many years. It was replaced after Amazon returned it. I bought it because it doesn't work with HDMI 2.1 devices. You get no signal when you set it to 2.1. They suggested a way to fix it, but it doesn't work for me. I can get a signal from my 3080 graphics card to the TV, but it disappears when I plug it into the receiver with eArc. The test feature of the receiver doesn't work with the cables I bought. I can test the same cable 10 times and it will fail or fail again. I can confirm that the Denon receivers don't process Atmos signals often. It seems to be random. I can watch a movie one night and get the next one in 5.1, but it won't do 5.1 when nothing has changed. Sometimes it will use the front, sometimes it will use all 9 speakers, and sometimes it only uses 4 speakers. The receiver is junk. It sounds good, but my 500$ Yamaha was better. I used it every single time. It had a better remote. I will never buy another Denon again. Denon released a fix for the bug. It's a good box. I thought they would give more connections, but they only gave one. The new Apple TV 4k has 2.1 but there is no way to use it because Denon doesn't give us more HDMI 2.1 ports. I pay for 4k 120hz on my PC with horrible handshake issues. The receiver cuts in and out and doesn't display video. I have to restart my devices at least once a day. I paid a lot of money for this receiver and I got headaches all the time. I'm going to upgrade to a quality receiver to enjoy my gear. The hand shake issue is out of hand. I'm now doing it 30-40 times a day. I've tried every combination of turn on order, but the stupid box is the only thing that works. I have to use eArc on my devices to get it to recognize my display, so I have to restart my device and remove all my cables in 15 minutes. I can't wait to sell it. It doesn't sound good anymore. The volume is noticeably quieter and I think some of the capacitors are going bad. It appears that Atmos is random and not based on the input signal.
👤Pros- Excellent sound quality with an option of 11.2 channel processing and 2 channel amplifier. There is a This unit has a future upgrade version of hdpi. The Audyssey set up only gives phase error for certain speaker types and each result is over ridden. I wonder if Audyssey 32 is flawed because the results yield different points each time. The most important thing about this unit is that it cannot turn off internal amplification while you use an external amplifier for 5 channels. The internal amplification of Denon cannot be maximized if you use 9.2 or 7.2 Amp mode. A rep should answer the question of how users can use a 7.2 or 9.2 set up and still be able to assign denons unused internal amplification to use towards channels not run by an external amplifier. The best receiver money can buy for the top ones in the year is probably this one.
